This guide explains how to set up and log in to the Jira Cloud app within Microsoft Teams. Integrating these tools allows you to manage work items, receive notifications, and collaborate on tasks without leaving your Teams workspace.
How to Set Up & Log In to Jira Cloud in Teams
- Select Apps from the left vertical toolbar in Teams.
- Enter Jira Cloud in the Apps search bar.
- Find the Jira Cloud app and select Add.
- Follow the sign in prompts to complete your installation.
- Enter your email address and sign in to Atlassian account, it will lead you to okta page to enter your email again ,enter your email and authenticate via okta verify from your mobile.
- Once signed in , you will find the Jira cloud app signed in to your teams .You can now select Manage Notifications to set your notifications according to your preferences
While selecting your Personal notifications , make sure to select all the options to receive notifications for the tickets raised by if you are added as a watcher in any ticket
- There are two sections Chat and Issues , in the chat section you can add comments , get notifications. In the issues section you can select the filter :Reported by me to see all the tickets that has been raised by you
- You can directly access your Jira tickets directly from here to comment or to know the status of the tickets from here
- Once the ticket is raised , you can check in the chat section if you need any update or if you want to comment on any raised by you , or you want to remove yourself from any ticket you are added as watcher
