Phishing emails can significantly harm the business. By practicing vigilance and reporting phishing attempts in Outlook, you can effectively block these malicious threats and report them. Here’s how to report a phishing email in Outlook.

Identifying Phishing Emails

Phishing emails are fraudulent messages that appear to come from a legitimate source, often to steal personal information or install malware. Here are some common signs of phishing emails:

  • Unusual sender email address
  • Generic greetings (e.g., "Dear Customer")
  • Urgent or threatening language
  • Suspicious links or attachments
  • Requests for personal information

We would like to emphasize - if you receive a email from supplier and first thing you get:

  • a page with another link like
  • a pdf or word document with another link
  • or (and) you will get a page which checks if you are human - this is most likely malicious email and bad actors try to trick the URL protection mechanism which checks for malicious content.

If you report email as phishing (described below) IT team will get a copy of that email. If you need any extra checks please always refer back to your cyber security training, and if you are not sure please forward the email to [email protected] and ask the IT team for an additional help.
