Access to Existing Distribution List or Create New Distribution List

This article provides guidance on how to request access to an existing Distribution List (DL) or create a new Distribution List through the Service Catalogue.

How to Submit a Request

Service Catalogue Portal

Users can raise a ticket for Distribution List requests via the Service Catalogue: URL: https://scottdunn.freshservice.com/support/catalog/items/122


Required Information

When submitting your request, please provide the following information:

1. Request Type

Select the appropriate request type from the following options:

  • Create New Distribution List
  • Remove Members from Distribution List
  • Delete Distribution List
  • Modify Distribution List Settings

2. Distribution List Email 

  • For existing DLs: Enter the current DL email address
  • For new DLs: Enter your desired DL email address (e.g., [email protected])

3. Business Justification

Provide a clear business reason for your request, including:

  • Purpose of the DL
  • Who will use it
  • Why it's needed
  • Expected frequency of use

4. DL Owner/Manager 

Specify who will be responsible for managing the Distribution List:

  • Full name of the DL owner
  • Department/Team
  • Email address (if different from requestor)

Request Types Explained

Create New Distribution List

Use this option when you need a new distribution list created for your team or project.

Remove Members from Distribution List

Use this option to remove specific users from an existing DL.

Delete Distribution List

Use this option when a DL is no longer needed and should be permanently removed.

Modify Distribution List Settings

Use this option to change DL settings such as:

  • Display name
  • Adding new members
  • Changing ownership
  • Modifying permissions
