You can now import multiple contacts at once following the below steps.
Pre-requisites
Export the excel file with contacts details to be uploaded.
To get the contact file go to Power BI Manifest report.
-Once you open the report, you see the contact details as below.
-To export these details, Hover your mouse over the top row (maked in square below) click on the 3 dots that appers on the right (indicated in the below screenshot) > click on export data (second screenshot).
-Select "Summarized data", under file format, click on the drop down and choose .cvs > click Export.
-Look for the file in downloads folder of your computer. The file is now ready to be imported in google contacts.
Once the file is ready.
To upload the contacts-
- On your laptop. open edge in 'incognito mode' this is so it doesn't pick up your Scott Dunn credentials by default.
- How to open incognito mode?
- Open the browser as usual.
- Click on the 3 dots at the top right corner (marked below,1).
- From the options that come up, select 'New InPrivate Window' (marked 2).
- A new window with a black background will open.
- Now search google contacts > sign in
- Enter the email which is given for google contacts account of your resort. Google contacts Email to be used for each resort as below - Enter the one applicable to your resort.
- For Pine Cliffs- [email protected]
- For Daios Cove- [email protected]
- For Eagles Resort- [email protected]
- Costa Navarino- [email protected]
- Once you enter it will then take you to Scott Dunn login page, here enter the email once again > click next and enter password. You should already have the password, if unsure check with IT.
- Once you enter password, it will ask for authentication.
- Once signed in, you will see the below screen. > Go to create contact, Select 'Create multiple contact'. Once selected, it will then give you the option to 'import contacts'
- After selecting 'import contacts' it will then prompt you to select a file. Click on select file, look for the excel file. Select the file you need to upload and click 'open'. Once done, it will show the below pop up (2nd screenshot) confirming the file was uploaded. Double check if it is the correct file. Click Import
- Optional:
- Above you see an option “Add Label” whenever you add or edit a contact. Labels are basically like tags or folders that help you organize your contacts. Think of them as simple ways to group similar contacts, so you can quickly find and manage them based on categories that make sense to you. You can assign one or more labels to any contact, and then quickly filter your contacts by those labels
- When importing contacts without adding a label, Google automatically creates a default label based on the import date (e.g., “Imported on October 24”), making it easy to find newly added contacts. Labels are a simple way to keep contacts organized and accessible!
Regardless of if you choose to add or not to add labels, continue with the below steps.
- Once done, you will see this small pop up indicating the progress of import.
- Once Import is done, you will see the updated contacts. Give it 2-5 mins to sync to the phone.
- If you need to see the contacts you uploaded on a particular day, Under Labels, you can see it will be automatically grouped by the date you uploaded the contacts.
- Please note, to see the booking reference. You will need to click on the contacts and it should come up under contact details.
