There are instances in where, Teams calls change microphone or speaker settings, resulting in no sound coming through or vice-versa. This guide will walk you through the points of importance when configuring your device settings.
Although Teams will often default to your selected audio device, it is best practice to always ensure your device settings are always correctly selected to point to your preferred devices.
Headset Settings
Before going forward, ensure that your headset is switched on and connected via Bluetooth settings.
1. The device which will show up on the list with a headset icon as below:
If there is an issue with your Bluetooth headset connection, please turn off the headset, unplug/replug the dongle and turn on your headset to re-establish the connection.

Computer Settings
1. The first point to troubleshoot is which Computer Audio device is selected on your machine:
*Please note, that if you have 'Jabra Hands Free AG' on your list, that will be the correct option - otherwise, it is Jabra Link 380.
- This new option appears after resetting the headset.
2. Once connected and you have specified the correct device as in the above image, Open Genesys/Teams to ensure the system is reading the correct device.

Teams Configuration when you are not on a call:
1. In Teams, click the Ellipses (...) on the top right corner of the screen, and click the Settings cog wheel:
2. Navigate down to Devices on the left, and you will notice:
Audio Devices (1*) list
- This is where you can specify the desired device
Speaker (2*)
- This field selects the output device for incoming audio
Microphone (3*)
- This field selects your microphone input device
You may also toggle Automatically adjust mic sensitivity for Teams to adjust for how much noise cancellation is needed depending on the background noise.
In conclusion, following the above as a best practice will ensure that your devices are configured correctly, and if/when connections are interrupted, you will be able to identify the causes and reconfigure your devices to the desired settings.
You can check the settings in teams by following the below steps.
- Whether on a Teams call or not, click on the 3 dots (...) besides the microphone (1) and select Device settings.
- Under device settings you will get the option to select the Audio devices. When you click on the field under audio devices. A drop down will appear with a list of available devices from there you can choose the desired device) Jabra Headsets in this case.
- Once you have selected that the filed under Speaker and Microphone should show the same.
- In case it does not, you can click under each field and the same drop down will appear from where you can select the Jabra Headphones.
- Once you have chosen the required headsets, the settings will be applied and the sound will come through your headsets.
Similarly, if you need to switch from Jabras to PC mic and speakers, you can follow the above steps and select PC Mic and speaker and ensure the Speaker and the microphone field shows as below.
